Match report: Otra 5 Birkenes 1
The game started with plenty of Otra possesion only for us to be frustrated once we got close to the goal. Birkenes played with a 3 man defensive line and a good goalkeeper which meant that we had to work hard for our chances.
The first goal came after about 15 minutes with Knut Skjevrak finding the back of the net. Birkenes rarely threatened the Otra goal and when they did Thomas Myrvold Fredheim dealt effectively with any loose ball. The half finished 3 to 0 to Otra with further goals added by a good Åsmund Wiberg.
In the second half Birkenes parked the bus in front of their goal, adding even more defence. We managed to score twice before Birkenes pulled one back near the end. Hard working ThaKla Htoo scored the first but the pick of the goals was a Marit Kjetså right foot drive past a well beaten goalkeeper.
Good game, well played. The result was never in doubt and you worked hard on keeping width and being patient. Well done. The pick of the players yesterday was a split decision between a Tor Forgard Davis first half performance and another solid match from Åsmund Wiberg.
Randesund on Wednesday will be a tougher encounter. Be prepared.
